I realized recently that I like myself so much more than I did in my 20s.
That feels like a funny thing to say out loud, but I mean it.
I think younger me spent a lot of time worrying about what I should be doing, where I should be in life, what other people thought, and whether I was doing enough.
These days, I’m much more comfortable with who I am. I know what matters to me, and maybe more importantly, I know what doesn’t.
I want a strong business, and I’m incredibly proud of what I’m building. But I don’t want my business to be the strongest thing in my life.
I have a marriage that is easily the safest, steadiest part of my life. I have a husband who supports me, believes in me, makes me laugh, and has been beside me through every version of this journey. That matters more to me than anything I could ever build professionally.
I have friendships with people who truly show up. I have bakery dates, long conversations, ridiculous laughs, and people I can call for absolutely no reason at all.
Some of the people who are part of my everyday life today weren’t even in it a year ago. Now they’re the people I talk to almost daily. There’s something really special about realizing that some of the best relationships in your life may still be people you haven’t even met yet.
I’m also learning that balance doesn’t mean giving everything equal time. It means knowing what deserves your time in the first place.
There was probably a version of me who thought success would eventually look like having more. More business. More accomplishments. More recognition. More things checked off the list.
At this point in my life, I think success feels a lot more like being present enough to actually enjoy what I already have while still being excited about what I’m building.
Maybe that’s one of the best parts of getting older.
You stop trying quite so hard to become who you think you’re supposed to be and get a whole lot more comfortable being who you actually are.  I really like her. ❤️
