Summer used to feel so different.
I remember being a kid and thinking summer was its own lifetime. Memorial Day to Labor Day felt just as long as the entire school year. We played outside until the streetlights came on, drank from the hose without a second thought, and freeze pops somehow counted as dinner more than once. If you had a summer birthday, it felt like a celebration built into the season itself—pool parties, sunshine, and all your friends actually available to show up.
Now, summer moves differently.
It comes in fast, stays loud for a minute, and somehow we’re already halfway through it before we’ve had a chance to settle into it. We’re still working, still running households, still making dinner while it’s light outside at 8:30pm like the day hasn’t decided to end yet. And somewhere in there, we’re also trying to plan vacations, be present with family, and not let the season just pass us by.
I think that’s the part I notice the most now—how quickly time moves when life is full. And maybe that’s why conversations about home feel different for me. It’s not just about buying or selling a house. It’s about timing, transition, and all the life that’s happening in between those decisions.
So if this season has you thinking about change—whether that’s this year or someday soon—I hope you feel like you have someone you can just talk it through with. No pressure. No rush. Just honest conversation about what life is asking of you right now.
That’s really what I’m here for.
